Wheatpeak Lenders, a small-business funding broker in Lewiston, Idaho, lists the kinds of free and low-cost help available to valley owners: SBDC advising on the Idaho and Washington sides, chambers of commerce, economic development groups and city offices, on the Idaho and Washington sides. Wheatpeak Lenders has no affiliation with any of them, and they do not endorse us.
Wheatpeak Lenders is not affiliated with these organizations
None of the organizations described below is a partner of Wheatpeak Lenders, and none endorses us. We list them because a free conversation with an adviser before a funding request is often worth having. Where we could not verify an organization's page ourselves, we say so.
SBDC advising on the Idaho and Washington sides
Owners search for a small business development center in Lewiston, Idaho and for the Idaho Small Business Development Center network. SBDCs offer no-cost, confidential advising on business plans, financial projections and loan packages, and they are run through the states with U.S. Small Business Administration support. Idaho and Washington each have their own network.
Chambers of commerce on both banks
Chambers of commerce run networking events and member directories, and some cover both Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA. Check the exact name and area served before joining.
Regional economic development
Economic development organizations work on business attraction, sites and regional projects. They are useful for owners planning a large expansion or a move, less so for a routine funding request.
City and county offices
The City of Lewiston's official website (cityoflewiston.org, checked 2026-10-16) is the starting point for city licenses, permits and contacts. The Nez Perce County site did not respond when our evidence was gathered, so we do not link it yet.
SBA programs
Owners searching for the Idaho small business administration usually mean the U.S. Small Business Administration, which works through district offices and SBA-approved lenders. The Thain Rd office neither makes nor arranges SBA loans.
A folder to take to a no-cost advising session
- Twelve months of business bank statements.
- Last year's business tax return and a current profit and loss statement.
- A one-paragraph description of what the money is for and how it will be repaid.
- Any existing loan or lease agreements.
The same items make a funding request faster. When you are ready to compare options, see the six options or business term loans. County figures are on the county employer count, and the other guides on all our guides.
