In short

Wheatpeak Lenders, a small-business funding broker in Lewiston, Idaho, arranges equipment financing through lending partners for Nez Perce County businesses buying machines, vehicles for the work and fixtures. The equipment usually secures the deal, and it may be structured as a loan, a lease or an equipment finance agreement. The partner decides, then sets the rate and term of any offer.

The $1 buyout lease, worked by hand

Equipment lease calculators with a $1 buyout option simply add the buyout to the final payment. Our calculator does not model leases, so do it by hand: add up every scheduled payment, add the buyout amount and any fees in the offer, and compare that total with the cash price of the equipment. The difference is what the lease costs you. Run the same total for a loan offer and compare the two figures, not the monthly payments.

Machine-secured loan or general term loan?

An equipment loan is secured by the machine it buys, so partners care about the machine's value and how long it will last. A general business term loan may fund the same purchase but relies more on the business's cash flow, and it may allow the money to cover installation, training or the remodel around the equipment.

Why a credit line is a poor home for a loader

A line of credit can buy small tools, but tying up a revolving limit in a machine that lasts years leaves less room for the gaps a line is meant for. For anything with a long useful life and a resale value, a dedicated equipment structure usually makes more sense.

Delivery, setup and training on the quote

The price on a quote is rarely the whole cost. Delivery, rigging, installation, software and training can add a meaningful share. Some partners include these soft costs in the amount financed; others fund only the equipment itself and leave the rest to you. Ask before you accept a quote, and get the soft costs itemized so a partner can see them.

Used equipment

Partners do fund used equipment, but they look harder at its age, hours or mileage, and condition. Expect to show a bill of sale or dealer quote, serial numbers, and sometimes an inspection or appraisal. The shorter the asset's remaining life, the shorter the term a partner will usually allow.

Paperwork a partner asks for on a machine

  1. A written quote or bill of sale with make, model, year and serial number.
  2. For used machines: hours or mileage, and photos or an inspection report.
  3. Business bank statements from the last few months.
  4. Every equipment loan and lease already running.
  5. For larger amounts, the last business tax return.

Machines and fixtures Nez Perce County, ID businesses finance

Construction had 145 employer establishments in Nez Perce County in 2023, 85 of them specialty trade contractors (County Business Patterns 2023). Loaders, compact excavators and work trucks for the job site are typical requests from that group. Retail stores finance display coolers, shelving and point-of-sale systems; medical and dental offices finance chairs and imaging units. Trucking fleets fall outside what we arrange.

Questions Owners Ask

Quick answers for valley owners on either side of the state line.

Is an EFA just an equipment loan under another name?

Both usually leave you owning the equipment. An EFA is often a simpler document with the partner holding a security interest; a loan creates a lien that is released when paid.

What does a $1 buyout lease cost in total?

Add every payment, the buyout and any fees, then compare with the cash price. The calculator on this site does not model leases.

Can a Lewiston, ID contractor finance a used loader?

Often, yes. Partners weigh the machine's age, hours and condition and may set a shorter term.

Does equipment financing cover installation?

Sometimes. Ask whether soft costs such as delivery, installation and training can be included in the amount.
